Geoff DeBery is currently the Director of Eden II’s Diagnostic & Outreach Center on Staten Island. He began working for Eden II Programs in 2007. Little Miracles Offering 6 Week Summer Camp, Scholarships available!
Eden II’s Little Miracles Preschool is pleased to announce a wonderful summer camp opportunity for children on the autism spectrum. This fun and educational 6-week camp will be available to children ages 7-10 who are currently enrolled in ASD programs in a community school. The program will allow participants to engage in community outings and recreational activities. Certified staff will work with small groups to ensure a personalized experience. Autism Friendly Winter Activities
During the winter months, colder weather often leads to children staying indoors for long periods of time. This can make it hard to keep kids occupied, and can result in parents and children on the spectrum to feel agitated and lose concentration. Benefits to Social Programming
Social interactions can be daunting to anyone. For those on the autism spectrum, simple everyday scenarios can be nearly impossible to get through. Individuals with autism are faced with unique challenges, and often need additional help learning to manage social cues that come more naturally to others. Social skills programming is an excellent way to address these challenges. Eden II’s Diagnostic & Outreach Center is pleased to announce that we will begin social skills groups in January 2015, and initial assessments are currently being conducted.
Insurance Participation Update
The Eden II Programs Diagnostic and Outreach Center was officially welcomed to the Value Options behavioral health network on October 28, 2014. This relationship allows Eden II Programs to provide ABA Therapy to eligible individuals with autism using in-network benefits through several local health plans including GHI, the Empire Plan, Emblem Health and some employer-funded plans. Value Options is the second major behavioral health network to welcome Eden II Programs. Registration open for Eden II Annual Autism Conference
On Monday, September 22, 2014 Eden II Programs announced the schedule for the 2014 Annual Autism Conference. This year’s conference features 4 presentations on various topics related to autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) presented by leading experts in the field. The conference kicks off with a parent panel, and includes workshops on elopement, preference assessment and best practices in ABA. Conference attendees will receive continental breakfast, lunch and a certificate of attendance.
