Insurance Participation Update

The Eden II Programs Diagnostic and Outreach Center was officially welcomed to the Value Options behavioral health network on October 28, 2014. This relationship allows Eden II Programs to provide ABA Therapy to eligible individuals with autism using in-network benefits through  several local health plans including GHI, the Empire Plan, Emblem Health and some employer-funded plans. Value Options is the second major behavioral health network  to welcome Eden II Programs. Registration open for Eden II Annual Autism Conference

On Monday, September 22, 2014 Eden II Programs announced the schedule for the 2014 Annual Autism Conference. This year’s conference features 4 presentations on various topics related to autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) presented by leading experts in the field. The conference kicks off with a parent panel, and includes workshops on elopement, preference assessment and best practices in ABA. Conference attendees will receive continental breakfast, lunch and a certificate of attendance. On June 3, 2014 the New York State Office of the Professions formally announced the application process for licensed behavior analysts and certified behavior analyst assistants. The application process is the first step in implementing the landmark ABA License Bill that was enacted by Governor Cuomo on January 10, 2014. FDA Warns Against Unproven Autism Treatments

On April 25, 2014 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to several companies that manufacture products or offer therapies claiming to treat or cure autism. According to the FDA: “some of these so-called therapies carry significant health risks”. The specific products and therapies named in the warning include the following: Chelation Therapies, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Miracle Mineral Solution, Detoxifying Clay Baths, and CocoKefir probiotics products.  The FDA has warned numerous companies that provide these therapies or manufacture these products that they face possible legal action if they continue to make false or misleading claims about these therapies […]
