Autism is a neurological impairment that affects an individual’s social and communication abilities. Individuals with autism also display restricted, repetitive and/or stereotyped behaviors. Decades of scientific research in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) have shown that individuals with autism are able to make significant improvements in all areas of functioning if they receive appropriate therapies. This research also tells us that individuals who begin receiving therapy at a younger age (ideally before age 3) have the greatest chance of recovery.
